There are four major themes in this course. Part 1 looks at the assessment of the financial health of the firm using financial statements and ratio analysis. Part 2 examines planning future financial performance with particular emphasis on managing growth. Part 3 considers the financing of company operations. Part 4 address the use of DCF techniques to evaluate investment opportunities.
This is a case methods based strategic management course and hence we will learn strategy by analyzing real world situations. Instead of a textbook you will purchase two course packs. Course pack 1 is from University of Virginia and Course pack 2 is from Harvard. Combined, these include relevant cases and reading materials.
